For more than 26 years, that balance—careful regard for both creative spirit and intellect—has been a core belief of the ABC’s. Art education and core academic subjects compliment each other and create a potent brew. Art-based programs speak to the whole child, nurturing the inner self while developing skills that will be needed for a lifetime of accomplishments. As with design and technology, interrelated disciplines, unite to create the endless list of products that touch our lives every day.

Art school families, past and present, know why the Arts Based Consortium of Schools (ABC’s) is successful. Its classrooms are alive with rigorous academic courses that are balanced by the arts: Creative Writing, Dance, Music, Theater and Visual Arts. Art-based programs speak to the whole child, nurturing the inner self while developing skills that will be needed for a lifetime of accomplishments.

The Arts Campus concept is an all inclusive concept. It reaches beyond uniting five individual art schools as a means of sharing services and facilities to creating a community center of art activity for all of Milwaukee’s children. There is no comprehensive public arts resource for Milwaukee’s youth. If you have the financial means, the city is rich with opportunity. If you do not have those resources and are not a scholarship recipient, your choices are limited. The arts campus will be a means to preserve public arts educational programming for Milwaukee’s children.

It’s time to combine our tremendous collective resources. This site is for families, faculty, students, community leaders, arts organizations and any and all patrons of the arts. You are interested enough in the arts campus project to spend time looking over this website. Perhaps you would also consider joining the effort to make the arts campus concept a reality. The campus will be a community resource. It makes sense to have the community involved.
